Myka User Interface
One of our core beliefs is that the interface should be SIMPLE. We want to have as few remote control clicks to start watching video. The user can also log into Myka with a web browser and pull up the same information. By providing this remote login feature, we can extend the functionality beyond what is convenient to user with a remote control. Here are some screen shots that illustrate some of the basic concepts behind our UI. The UI is designed to be displayed on a television and operated with a remote control. Myka has a built in browser so we have full HTML support that includes CSS, and JavaScript to control behavior and look. PHP is also running to support dynamic elements. We have just launched our developer program so we will have many people help us create a unique user experience. Top Level Menu

This is an example of the first set of user choices. Our goal is to keep this set of choices simple. We currently have broken down the interface into for basic areas. We want to keep this list to a small number. The core areas are; managing content you have downloaded, accessing internet content, downloading content and handling configuration tasks.
Managing Downloaded Content
![]() Myka downloads and stores internet video on its own internal hard drive. There is a simple hierarchical view of these files. Users can browse into directories and select files for playback. The interface maintains an on screen view of the hierarchy to ease navigation. With the remote control, you can browse to any level in the directories very quickly. Internet Streaming

Myka also has a streaming capability. The set of icons at the bottom of the screen are a subset of the streaming sites available. You can manage this list through your Myka account at my.myka.tv Here is an example of the YouTube Service:

User Interface
Myka's user interface was designed to evolve. The screen is rendered in HTML (with FLASH being planned). We want the interface to change and grow. Different users will want different interfaces. Channels will want their own structures. We will be actively supporting a developer community that we are sure will suprise us with their creativity. As we discussed in the software description, the UI is downloaded to Myka, just like a web page. Just like a web page, we will be continuously up dating it.
