    Release Notes

These are the current Myka release notes.  We will be continually updating this list as issues are added and changed.

    • Some users have reported issues with streaming (YouTube etc.) at 1080p resolution.  We will be correcting this.  In the mean time, no issues have been reported at 720P.
    • There have been some problems reported with wireless routers that have a multiple word SSID.  We are working on this issue.  By changing your SSID to a single word will fix this in the short term.
    • The on screen DELETE function is not working.  We will be releasing this fix shortly.  You can delete files via telnet, FTP or mounting the Myka file system.
    • Myka currently plays back files stored in the DOWNLOAD directory and below.  We may change this in the near future.
    • If your Myka starts up and the screen is blank, you may need to set the default video.  We set it to 720p.  The red card included in the packaging describes how to do this.

    Troubleshooting

While the Myka is extraordinarily easy to use,  questions may still arise.  Here are the solutions to a few common issues.  You may find a quick and easy solution.  If you still can't find what you're looking for, please feel free to contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. • If your video screen is blank after powering up the system, you need to change the video settings on Myka from the default settings of 720p, 60hz, HDMI by using the TV Mode button and numeric keypad on the Remote Control.  See the table below for the correct value. For example, to change to NTSC 480i, 60Hz, press the TV Mode button on the Remote, then press the “1” key.
    TV MODE
    Video Output
         1
     NTSC 480i 60Hz
         2 PAL 576i 50HZ
         4
     P/Pb/Pr 720P 60Hz
         5 P/Pb/Pr 1080i 50Hz
         6 P/Pb/Pr 1080P 60Hz
         7 HDMI 720p 60Hz
         8 HDMI 1080i 59.94Hz
         9 HDMI 1080P 59.94Hz
    • If you receive an error message while accessing a menu, you may need to clear your cache.  Navigate to the "Tools" menu and select Maintenance.  On your remote, press the button labeled "File Mode" - just below the red power button, and the words "Clear cache" should appear in the top right corner.  Press ENTER, and you should be able to access the menu.
    • If the UI does not load upon reaching the Home screen, you may need to select HARD DISK from the menu.
    • If your media ever freezes or has some sort of issue, or you simply want to return to the UI, press STOP on your remote.
    • If any of your network services do not function, check to see if your network connection is active.  If it is, then the service itself is down and you may have to wait a few moments before trying again.
    • After initiating a torrent in My Myka, there may be a delay of a few minutes before the torrent appears on your Myka box.  Clicking Download again is unnecessary.
    • In the Maintenance screen, there is an option that says "check for firmware update".  Please do not use this feature.
    • When downloading from a URL of your own specification, make sure the URL points directly to the torrent file in question.
    • Exercise caution when using the on-unit file management interface.  It utilizes the basic system move and copy functions, which does allow for some operations which could potentially compromise your drive's integrity (i.e. copying your entire drive into a sub-directory).

    Network Guide

The Myka is a fully functional network device which can be accessed in numerous ways over your home network.  For virtually all of these methods, you will need to know the IP address of your Myka, which can be found by navigating to the Tools menu on your Myka box and selecting Network.

    • To access your drive directly from a Windows machine, enter \\MYKA.IP.ADDRESS\share (ex. \\192.168.1.103\share) into an Explorer window.  The username is nmt and the password is 1234.
    • The Myka is equipped with an FTP server. To access it, point your FTP client to your Myka's IP address.  The username is ftpuser and the password is 1234.
    • The Myka is also equipped with a telnet server.  Again, just telnet to the Myka's IP address.  You will not need a password.
    • You can access Myka's BitTorrent manager can be accessed from any computer on your home network.  Just enter http://MYKA.IP.ADDRESS:8077/ (ex. http://192.168.1.103:8077/) in your browser window.  The username is nmt and the password is 1234.
    • When putting files on to the Myka from another computer, they must be placed in the DOWNLOAD directory in order for the Myka to be able to play them.
